Nosthush has been playing all over the country since his return to the United States, but has finally made a home for himself in Brooklyn, New York, a big hub of cricket in the U.S.
His control of flight, turn of the ball and electricity in the field has had him on the selectors radar and earned him a spot on the team at #WCL3.
He didn’t even bother to pack any cricket equipment. But in a move that was perhaps a portent to the future, his mother slipped a single cricket ball into his bag without him knowing.
Kenjige was born in Auburn, Alabama but moved to his ancestral home of Tamil Naidu in India as a young child. There he grew up playing cricket and developed into a useful medium fast bowler and batsman, before at age 13 he decided to take up spin bowling in response to his lack of physical size. He played school boy cricket in the small town of Ooty and credits his coaches there as essential to his early development as a player. At 18, his parents recognized that he would need better coaching and more opportunities if he was to progress with his cricket, so he was shipped off to Bangalore to attend college. One other reason for attending college in Bangalore was the school hours. Class ran from 7:30am to 1pm meaning he had plenty of time each afternoon to devote to cricket.
During this period of his life he attended the Karnataka Institute of Cricket (KIOC) academy, where again he credits the coaching as being hugely influential to his development. He ended up playing for his university and his local 1st Division side, but hadn’t quite cracked the big time when he made the life-changing decision to move to the United States.
He initially settled in Washington D.C., but after 6 months of applying finally landed a job in New York. A keen squash player also, it was whilst playing squash that he met some guys who played cricket in one of the local New York leagues. Against all his predictions, he was soon back playing the sport he loved. Then in 2016, Nosthush applied for and was selected to take part in the USA Combine held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. It was one of a number of combines held around the country to help identify talent for the U.S. team. He was initially selected to a wider 30 man U.S. squad in July of 2016, but missed selection for the next cull in September. He was now on the selectors radar.
Following the success of the U.S. team at World Cricket League Division 4 in late 2016, an even more intensive effort was put into finding the best possible squad for #WCL3. Nosthush was chosen to participate at a couple of squad camps in Houston and impressed sufficiently to make the final list of 14 names to go to Uganda. “The Opportunity is more than a Dream” he states emphatically. “My life has always revolved around cricket”. So much so that he has quit his job as a bio-medical engineer to focus on his cricket for the time being. One gets the feeling it was an easy decision to make for Nosthush Kenjige.

Before you can register your organization, you must have signed up for individual membership. Please click here and complete the process in full.
To register your club or league, begin by logging in to your individual account at my.usacricket-dev.cdn-pi.com. In the left hand navigation, click My Teams/Leagues, and select the appropriate team or league. In the top right click purchase membership, select the desired membership, and enter payment information if applicable. As a reminder, there is no cost for the introductory membership through June 30, 2018.
If you don’t find your club or league in the database, then it will need to be added manually so you will need to submit your club or league here and wait 24 hours for the club or league to be added to the back-end of the database.This step is only necessary if your League or Club did not complete the requested pre-registration process.
For your club or league to become a fully-fledged Organizational Member, you must ensure that you are compliant with the USA Cricket Constitution. This means if you are a club, you need at least 12 players to join USA Cricket as individuals and be aligned with your club. For leagues, you must have at least 3 clubs aligned to your league and members of USA Cricket.
Once your Organizational Membership application is completed, please share the URL – https://usacricket-dev.cdn-pi.com/membership with all other members of your club and/or league and encourage them to join.
