USA Cricket is in the process of establishing a clear and coherent player pathway for everyone wanting to play the game. Whether you’re a small child wanting to try a new sport for the first time, a college student looking for a game to play with your friends, a serious cricket player looking to push your case for representative selection, or a retiree looking to stay active in your twilight years – cricket is a sport for you.
To ensure sustainable growth in cricket in this country, we are investing time, energy and resource into ensuring that the game of cricket is fun, challenging, and accessible at each age-group and at each stage of the player pathway.
Step one of the pathway is our National Entry Level Program which is fast approaching completion. This program aims to target children aged 5-8 in our schools, rec centers, community groups, cricket clubs and academies. All activities are game-based and designed to generate a safe, fun, inclusive and challenging environment, which caters for all ability levels and helps children develop skills whilst having fun. This game-based approach aligns with the USOCs American Development Model at Stage 1.
In the coming months resources will be in place to support targeted introductory programs for girls and boys, as well as broad educational opportunities for non targeted areas.
We are also building out the rest of the Junior Cricket pathway and will update the information on this page as more information becomes available.
