A fantastic all-round performance has seen the #TeamUSA Women cap a remarkable final day of their tour of Australia in the best possible way. An 8 wicket win with over 4 overs remaining represents a comprehensive victory, and further underlines the improvements in the group that have been evident as the tour has progressed.
The New South Wales Select XI won the toss and batted first. The U.S. took regular wickets throughout the innings, with none of the NSW batters able to score more than Porter’s 23 in compiling 119 for 8. Captain Shebani Bhaskar was the star with the ball, not for the first time on tour, ending up with 4 wickets in just 2 overs, whilst there was an excellent effort from Sindhuja Reddy behind the stumps with four stumpings.
During the chase the U.S. lost both Nadia Gruny and Sindhuja Reddy with the score on 26, but a magnificent partnership between skipper Bhaskar and Candacy Atkins for the third wicket all but sealed victory for the visitors. Both batters were able to find the boundary regularly, enabling the side to stay well ahead of the asking rate.

Atkins retired hurt on 25, with Erica Render joining her captain to see the side through to victory including one massive six. Shebani Bhaskar topped a brilliant all-round performance, and an impressive tour for her individually with 40 not out at a run a ball.
And so this remarkable tour has come to an end, book ended by two fantastic wins, whilst sandwiched in between were some experiences that the team will never forget.
